Full Throttle

First time, I rode a motorcycle..dun be mistaken..I have no license..but for the sake of testing the system, I had to sit on the motorcycle and pushed it along..then the whole bike lost balance. I almost fell down..had not they come to my rescue. Soo malu. I din even the strength to push a bike..! And they even kept apologizing to me...when it was no fault of them. But it was a fun experience nonetheless! A novelty. hehe

Almost a week le..still havent recovered. This coughing virus is getting on my nerves. So sianzz..have to keep staying at home..other than work.

Most happy news that I have received in the past few months: I have passed the exams! ( if you have read my previous posts, u will noe wat exams those were and what a heavy burden they have been on my shoulders.)

Groggy. A bit listless

One Year

14th July
One year ago, on this very day was my convocation. It marked the end of my studying life and signified a whole new beginning. How time files. Scenes of me donning the blue gown, receiving the degree scroll on the stage, taking photos with friends and parents remain vivid. It all seems just like yesterday.

Light of the Ring

So far, July has been quite a busy month. Hehe..and I did 2 things for the first time in my life. I actually changed ring lights! Not one, but TWO! Usually, it is my dad who does all these. But it so happened that both my mum and he were not at home and my bro was sick. So in order to be spared the agony of bathing in darkness (which has been going on for 2 days since no one was free to go change), I went down to the shops to buy. With no assistance, I digged out the dusty high chair from the storeroom and carried it on my shoulder, just like the OL in the Jap drama 庶务二课 (except hers was a ladder..bt sama la), alternating between 2 bathrooms which are quite a distance away from each other.

I first started with the one in my parents' room. It was a breeze. But the one in the kitchen gave me problems. After I had changed the ring light, I climbed down and went to turn on the switch which is a distance away (haizz). To my horror, no light! Then I walked back, climbed up again to see if I have put wrongly. Then I climbed down again..switched..bt no light. So frustrated. My first instinct was that the ring light is faulty and I wanted to get a replacement. But I did not want to make a wasted trip to the shop. So in order to assure my guess, I carried the chair like an OL again to my parents room, climbed up and took out the ring light. I put in the assumingly-faulty ring light. But hey, it worked!

Then I thought ok, the problem might lie with the starter. Once again, I went back to the kitchen and took out the starter. Then back to my parents room again where I took out the original starter and put this one in. If it doesnt light up, my guess is confirmed. But it did! Where did the trouble lie? I was thinking hard. Then bo bian, I went back to the kitchen. I climbed up again and kept staring at the light.

It was then I saw a wire seeming coming loose. Being an idiot where wiring is concerned, I did not know exactly where to hook it in. After a couple of trys (which also equates to climbing up and down to turn on the switch on the other end), I finally had the correct one. Ecstasy engulfed me when I saw the light. *perpires* At that moment, I have to admit unabashedly that I felt a sense of truimph. Victory. This exhausting continuous process of climbing up and down, moving here and there, carrying the chair went on for around 45 min. My knees are still aching!

A quick look at my watch showed it was time to report for work soon. That day also happened to be my busiest day ever since I was posted back to ground ops zone. One knockdown case in particular got me occupied for a few hours. It was only until around 9 pm, that I got to have my dinner.

The 2nd thing was that I actually ironed clothes. LOL. Yea..believe it anot, it was my first time *ashamed* And guess what, while ironing, my eyes were glued to the Nth rerun of the classic movie 笑傲江湖. At that time, it was 3 am. Watched it Nth times. But amazingly, I never get bored of it. My mum then commented she could even visualize a scene of me watching this same movie when I am 60 years old!
