CCP : "Commercial China Package"

Finally back from my overseas trip. 8 days of being away from home, from work. Never knew that going for hols can be so tiring manzz. Provinces we went to were Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi and Shanghai.

Its really an eye-opener and precious experience for me. One thing that most intrigues me is the road system over there. Wahh, the pedestrain crossings are practically useless. Cars are more powerful than pple. Crossing the road and driving in China is damn difficult and requires a lot of skills and courage...hehe. Yr life seems to be at risk. Oh yes, horning there is like music. Everyone horns. ..bi bi bi bi.....*sweats*

There is this optional tour which obviously is not optional at all..costing 400 RMB. I spent this 400 RMB to sleep during a musical, to brave the roaring winds at Xin Tian Di and watching the musical fountain in which throughout the waves only go in 2 directions - back n forth.

What is really unexpected is that we were all brought to those so called state owned shops and gena 'chopped'. Its damn hard to resist not buying those ex 'national treasures' given their excellent sales tactics. Hehe..after this, we even imagine ourselves being carrots of different heights (symbolizing different spending power) walking into those 'tai lam tiam', with the salesgals sharpening their choppers waiting for the opportunity to chop us. Damn bloody funny...if you can visualize it in your mind. At the end of the trip, we all become shorter. lol My money is spent on 'grass, rocks, stones and worms' Haizzz..I realize I din even buy any clothing or ladies stuff. I was quite close to buying the 'famous' skincare product 'Xi Shi Mei'. I was offered a so called standard price of 1500 RMB. When I showed signs of hesitation, they cut to 1000 RMB. I still think it was ex..so I walked away. The salesgal came along and offered 800 RMB. I wavered a bit bt I still stood firm to my decision. Then final offer: 600 RMB. Can you believe it? Without any desire to bargain, they actually cut the price from 1500 to 600. This made me doubt the quality and credibility of the product. I am glad that I had not bought it or else the hole will be even bigger liao.

The open concept in the hotel is amazing. All glass doors. You can see everything. Ehh..I am not so open-minded though. In the end, Jess and I had to set formation to cover the doors..how we placed the unused towels, using pillows etc...hehe. Mineral water there is expensive.even more ex than beer. Interestingly, the brand of the most famous brand of water is 'Wa Ha Ha'. Everytime we want water, we wld say, 'Get me Wa Ha Ha'...haha

This trip was livened up to a huge extent by the crappy cold jokes by the 3 guys(WL, JL and ZD). They made me laugh like xiao. Jess and I got so 'cold' that at times we can't tahan..haha. A lot of classic lines and jokes were thought of during this trip. Top few on my ranking are:

1) The story of Carrots gena chopped
2) Modified Kui Hua Bao Dian
3) Improvised line : Shang You Tian Tang, Xia You Yan Wang
4) 'Yi Pian Qing Xin' becomes "Yi Pian/Ji Tao Cheng Sim" (in hokkien) - Yi Pian Qing Xin is the name of the expensive " Zi Sha Hu' we bought. Which I think its soo true.

Hilarious.

The 6 of us laughed uncontrollably during the trip. The people one travels with on a trip does make a huge difference.

All in all, I will say this trip falls short of my expectations(cuz of the tai lam diam, gena chased like ducks, making us stay long at places which we shdnt, bad arrangement by the tour leader). But its still a nice trip. A good break from work! I look forward to going overseas again. hehe..taiwan, japan, europe, tibet, hk?
